About the Willard Library

Library Staff

Lili Dizon, Teacher Librarian

This is Ms. Dizon's first year in the Willard Library. She is new to Berkeley, having recently moved from Florida. She has three years of teacher-librarian experience and prior to that was an elementary school teacher. She graduated from University of Central Florida (Go Knights!) and got her Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Webster University. In her free time she loves to read, travel, and explore her new home city and state.

Marissa Arterberry, Library Assistant

Ms. Marissa was born and raised in San Jose and earned her Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from San Francisco State University. Marissa was a substitute teacher and arts enrichment teacher in Oakland before coming to Willard. Marissa enjoys making art, gardening, and spending time with her family.

The Library League (Student Library Workers)

Students enrolled in Independent Work Experience form the core of the Willard Library's work staff. These highly-trained and enthusiastic 7th and 8th grade students support their fellow classmates by helping circulate and shelve library materials, assist students with finding books, and help with technology needs throughout the school. It is only with their able assistance that the rest of the library staff is able to focus on teaching and collection development. All students can apply to be part of the Library League when they select electives for their 7th or 8th grade year.
